TRUE LOVE an interview | David and Jasmine | Austin Engagement/Laguna Gloria


| REAL COUPLES OF AUSTIN | ​You're used to seeing images of lovely couples smiling because they are so excited to be engaged. Do you know them? Maybe. Maybe not. Who are they? What is their story? Images alone might not tell the whole story. While they certainly tell a lot, I wanted to do something a little different. What about the real story behind the smiles? Every couple is different. They deserve to have their story told and to tell their own.. Now you have the opportunity to get to know their love story. An interview: I asked Jasmine to tell me their love story and here it is Here is my first couple in my Series. "True Love"​ DAVID AND JASMINE

Where did you two meet? We met through a mutual friend back in college, but just spoke and hung out once or twice. David says he had an eye out for me after we met. College soon came to an end and after a 1 year being stationed in Korea, he moved to Fort Hood. I was 2 1/2 hours north in Dallas and David reached out saying he had just moved back and didn't have many friends in the area and asked if he could come and hang out with me and my friends for St. Patrick's Day. I immediately agreed thinking, the more the merrier! One thing led to another and we hit it off and have been together since. He later admitted that he had a separate agenda with that hang out request ; )

How long have you two been together? We have been together for about 3 1/2 years. St. Patrick's Day marked the start of our story. About 8 months down the road David was deployed to Afghanistan for 10 months. It wasn't easy missing each other each and every day, but it strengthened us in such amazing ways.

Was it love at first sight or did you have to win each other over? College is a crazy time, so I couldn't tell you what I was thinking then. However, after St. Patrick's Day, I saw David in such a different way. I told my all my closest friends that something was different about this guy and that something just felt right. I'll let David tell you his answer to that one :)

Where did you get engaged?

We got engaged while dancing to Frank Sinatra (my absolute favorite), under the beach moonlight on my dream vacation in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica.

Do you have plans set for the wedding? We will be getting married this NYE and cannot wait to celebrate with all of our family and friends, and to be husband and wife!!!

What's your dream wedding? As a child, as a teen and as an adult I never envisioned my wedding. I was one of those girls that just did not have any idea of what I wanted. I never let my mind wander to those places because I wanted to protect my heart. I wanted to only allow those thoughts to enter my mind when I knew I was with the right person. I wanted my dream wedding to be our dream wedding. When I started thinking about wedding gowns and color schemes, I knew he had me. My dream wedding consists of an amazing celebration of love with the people we love most.

If you could sum up your LOVE story in a few words, what would it be? Our love story grows each and every day through our love for God, our endless adventures and laughs, our abilities to challenge and encourage one another to be the best versions of ourselves and our shared unconditional love.
