Cameron + Sarah's Vista West Ranch Wedding | Austin, Texas

If you have been following along with us, the wait is finally over. This beautiful and sweet couple are married and you're here for all the beautiful little details. With a love for nature and everything country, these two planned a sweet and rustic wedding for a perfect summer day. The setting is the rustic venue at Vista West Ranch out in Dripping Springs Texas. Many couples find the rolling hill country views so alluring since it is the backdrop to their ceremony when you choose the outdoor option. Not to mention the sun sets directly to the back of the venue so you can watch all the beautiful colors painted across the sky as you have your first dance of the evening. Sarah was very specific about the type of wedding dress she wanted (Naturally) and she preferred something that was full of interest but not lux and over the top. Since she was going to have an outdoor summer wedding, she had to be very careful to find a dress not too heavy, or thick and let's be real, something she could possibly sweat in! I mean, it's TEXAS, at the end of JUNE. After searching high and low, she found the PERFECT eddy K gown from Milan, Italy. The light blush under layer peeks through just enough to create a soft hue to balance the stitched appliqué across the entire dress. On photo and in person it's a stunning dress. Being the humble sweet person that is Sarah, she didn't long to be the show stopper she was, but it was as if her dress was made for her. As you see below on the faces of her best friends when she had a "first look" with them, they thought so as well! If you looked through Sarah and Camaron's engagement session, I noted that I would be sharing with you all a little look into how their journey began together and where they see themselves going in the coming years. I was able to sit down with these two and ask them about their adventures together from the meet-cute to the I do's. As you look through their wedding day images you will read along with Sarah and Cameron as they share their love story.

How did you meet?

Cameron and I met in the summer of 2012 at a summer camp in West Texas. I was a camper who had just graduated from high school and he was a camp counselor who had just finished his junior year of college.

What did you first think of your partner?

Cameron was interested and intrigued by me. I was infatuated by him. If you ask my mom or sisters, they will tell you I was only able to talk about the dreamy camp counselor after coming home from camp.

How did you start dating?

Cameron and I met up after camp while he was vacationing in Galveston with his family. I lived in Houston with my family at the time. That was not our official first date, but what Cam might call a "do I have feelings for this person?" meet up. The meet-up in Galveston further confirmed Cam's feelings for me. And I already was head over heels for the man. He then ever so sweetly planned a whole day for the two of us in Brenham, TX knowing that was about halfway in between for the two of us with him being in south Austin and I being in North Houston. We met up in the Brenham Walmart parking lot. Cam had mapquested the directions to all of our events and places for the day. He had stuffed them in door of his truck and kept checking them throughout the day. We first went to a hidden lake that Cam had found. We found the lake after a little bit. We stay and talked for a couple of hours just about life, what we wanted, what was valuable to each of us. During our time at the lake, Cam confessed his feelings and I confessed mine. He told me he didn't want to kiss me just yet as he didn't see how it would work for the two of us since he was going to school at Texas State  in San Marcos, TX and I was about to leave for my freshman year at SFA in Nacogdoches, TX as the two are 5 hours apart. But we continued to hang out for the day. We went to the cutest cafe in the town square. Cam found an arcade called Horseshoe Junction that also had mini golf, lasertag, and go-karts that we hung out at for the remainder of the afternoon. And yes, Cam kicked my butt at every game we played. We ended the day at a diner that was located right next to a little airport runway. After dinner, we were sitting on a bench outside of the diner soaking in the day and Cam dared me to go out on the airport runway. I refused amusing that obviously a little plane would land on me as soon as I stepped out on the runway. Cameron then proceeded to drag me out on the runway. Needless to say, I still had the vision of a plane landing on the two of us and was slightly freaking out. Then out of nowhere despite his desire to wait, Cameron kissed me on the middle of the runway!

How did you know that your partner was the right one for you?

Cameron knew over the course of time that he didn't want to live life without me. I have always been quite intrigued by Cameron as he was so different from other guys who I had been interested in. Cameron was different because he wanted to pursue me and my heart. He continues to do that to this day.

Tell me three things you love about your partner.

Cameron loves my happy heart, my love for kids, and the way I take care of him. I love Cameron's servant heart, his constant joking, and his spontaneity.

What are some of your partner’s quirks? What are things about your partner that drives you a little crazy? — things that only you could love.

Cameron says that my need to plan and to always have a plan drives him ever so slightly crazy. While I love Cameron's constant joking, there are also times where it can drive me a little crazy.

How did the proposal happen?

Cameron and I had just celebrated our five year anniversary in August. I was incredibly confident in our relationship's future. I had told Cameron that I really wanted my nails painted for when he proposed. He was upset because he knew that would give away when he would propose. So he then decided that every week or every other week, he would take me to go get my nails done. We went the first time in the middle of September and I was slightly hopeful that it might happen then. Nothing happened that weekend, so the second week I wasn't expecting anything. On Saturday morning, we went to get my nails done. Cameron then offered to me either a fancy date night or we could just go to one of our normal places for date night. I chose fancy date night, truly not thinking anything of it. Cameron was insistent that I wear the blue dress and he wouldn't tell me where we were going. I still was not picking up on the hints. We drove from my apartment in Austin and began heading south on I-35 towards San Marcos. Then we were headed towards Wimberley on Ranch Road 12. There is truly only one route from San Marcos to Wimberley and that is on Ranch Road 12. So I assumed we were going to dinner in Wimberley with some friends who live there possibly. Next thing I know, Cameron is turning onto a side road. At this point, I am suspicious and unsure of what is happening. We are about to turn a corner and instead Cameron pulls over. It's this gorgeous overlook that gives you a fantastic view of some ranches in Wimberley. Cameron says let's get out and take a selfie as the sun is setting. I hesitantly get out still unsure of what is going on. We are standing watching the sunset. Cameron turns me to face him holding both of my hands. I cannot for the life of me remember what he said exactly until he said "Let's pray". When I opened my eyes after the prayer, Cameron was down on one knee asking me to spend the rest of our lives together!

Name three memorable experiences you’ve been through together as a couple.

Cameron's favorite memories are from family vacations that we have gotten to be apart of such as when we went to Lake Tahoe, Disneyland, a cousin's wedding in Pennsylvania, and visiting family in Wisconsin during the winter. Sarah's favorite memory is when Cameron surprised me in Nacgodches. We dated long-distance for two years with Cameron being in Austin and I being in Nacogdoches. We typically would plan out the weekends we would see each other, but there was one weekend in February of my sophomore year that Cameron drove to Nacogdoches without my knowing. It was incredibly thoughtful and sweet of him!

How would you describe the dynamic of your relationship? How would others describe it?

Our relationship is incredibly fun-filled with lots of laughter.

What values are important to you as a couple?

Our faith, family, and working hard are important to the two of us.

If you were looking back at these images in twenty years, what would you want to remember about your life right now?

We want to remember that life was simple even though it did seem chaotic at times. We know life will truly only get more and more busy.

Where do you see yourselves in five years? What are you most looking forward to in your future as a couple?

We will probably in a house we built with a dog, maybe a kid on the way in five years. We are excited to get to do life together and experience life together as a married couple.

Thank you to Sarah and Cameron for bringing me along for their beautiful love story so I could bring it to life with my photographic perspective. Credits: Photography:
