Jordan is my husband of 10 years as of 2018. He is just a calm center to all he meets. You'll see when you meet him and you can let me know if you feel calm.. It doesn't hurt that he's so cute too! Jordan and I have a fun story. If you ask him, he nonchalantly gives you a few vague details about meeting in New Orleans while doing some relief efforts after hurricane Katrina. If you ask me, I try my best to shorten it but I am a detail oriented person so the story gets elaborate. So, here is a version that hopefully splits the difference. Jordan and I both were separately involved in a volunteer building work. He was raised in Alaska and I grew up in Texas. In 2007, our volunteer work and building skills took us to New Orleans and that is when we met. We became good friends and worked very hard for those in need of new homes after the devastation. We made hundreds of new friends from all over the globe, heard life experiences that will stay a lifetime with us and had the best time of our lives. We both agree it was the best decision we ever made to help rebuild New Orleans. We separately decided to stay in New Orleans after our work was finished. We end up moving in apartments with roommates and living in the same neighborhood. 

 After a little time passed the cat got out of the bag that he was interested in me. I resisted as best I could, telling him I wasn't interested or too busy but obviously, we are married so he won me over! We both are fluent in American Sign Language. The story of how we learned ASL together is a fun one too but we can save that for another time. The basis of our marriage stems from the experience of why we met each other. We have continued our volunteer work and always take the time to go on adventures together. He will soon be on his way to Puerto Rico in May and I am so excited he's able to help more people soon! We lived in Lousiana for 5 years  (yes, the big easy, 504 aka NOLA) and then moved to Austin, Texas for a change of scenery and to be closer to our families. We enjoy being together every day just like best friends. I will take any excuse I can to get us out kayaking and he will use any excuse to get us to a movie at Alamo Draft house. We are low key and pretty chill. We are always happy to meet new people and we look forward to meeting you and hearing your story! Thank you for letting me share ours.
